How to Copy DVD Movies to Surface RT/Surface 2 Tablet

This article will show you how convert DVD to Microsoft Surface supported video format so that you can put DVD movies on Surface RT or Surface 2 for smoothly playing.

Microsoft hasn't made any dramatic changes to the smart-looking VaporMg design of the Surface. The Surface 2 looks the same as the original RT model and accommodates a similar 10.6-inch widescreen display. However, neither the Surface 2 nor the Surface RT comes with DVD-DOM for playing DVD discs. Luckily, it's easy to move DVD movies to Surface 2 or Surface RT for enjoyment on the go, you just need to convert DVD to Surface-friendly format.

If you're interested in doing likewise, check out EaseFab's DVD Ripper, which is the best program I can recommend for ripping videos from DVD to Surface 2 and Surface RT. It's easy to use for editing and conversion and makes great quality copies of my DVDs. The audio/video synchronization is very good, the size of the subtitles too.

I've had success using the great DVD to Surface converter to convert DVD discs to a format playable by my Surface 2 and iPad Air. I've found the quality to be excellent, and see no difference when compared to playing the discs themselves. With it, you can also rip DVD to fit iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5S, iPad Mini, Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Tab 3, Nexus 7, Nexus 10, Amazon Kindle Fire HD and more. Now just get it and follow the step-by-step guide to finish the DVD to Surface conversion.

How to convert DVD for playback on Surface 2/Surface RT

Step 1: After downloading, install and run the program. Then click Load DVD movies to the program.

Step 2: Microsoft Surface tablet well supports MP4 video files. Here just click Profile and choose MP4 from Common Video (MP4-HD is available under HD Video).

Tip: If you want, you can then click "Settings" to adjust the video parameters manually. Remember the file size and video quality is based more on bitrate than resolution which means bitrate higher results in big file size, and lower visible quality loss. To watch videos on Surface RT and Surface 2, 720p with 2000kbps is just all right.

Step 3: Finally, simply click the Convert button on the main interface and let the software do the DVD to Surface MP4 conversion for you. After the conversion, click "Open" to locate the converted video files and then transfer them to your Surface RT and Surface 2 for watching on the go with ease.
